When We Touch

S A N D Y   K N I G H T

It’s never going to be

the same when

I touch your cool hard

steel firm inside my palm

you won’t fail to

arouse the memory of

the ways I disregarded you

dismissed danger while

you laid in wait for a cavalier

naked hand to shake

Never again will I trust you

without wondering if you

won’t slip me a novel

poison pathogen fortified

with death for my

crime of negligence
