AMA NYAMEKYE ANANE began her career teaching poetry and general studies in prisons throughout Massachusetts.
She also taught writing and multicultural literature at a public high school in the South Bronx dedicated to the written word. In 2011, she founded and led an education advocacy organization in Los Angeles that focused on elevating teacher voice and student achievement.
She is now the Founder of Good Influence, a consulting practice that works with nonprofits and foundations focused on issues of civic engagement, equity and justice.
She writes, works, and lives in Los Angeles with her magnificent wife and three daughters.
